Job summary

Trane Technologies in Tempe, AZ is hiring a Controls Engineer to design hardware and software for small building automation systems. You will translate contract documents into effective control solutions and may perform on-site surveys and installations.

Responsibilities include creating installation drawings and operation sequences, and handing over to the service team. Some programming work may be involved; travel within the district is possible.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction, Engineering Technology, or equivalent/related experience.
• Experience with HVAC systems and building automation is preferred.
• Familiarity with CAD and basic electrical drawings is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Design comfort control and automation systems for building projects (hardware/software).
• Review contract documents and mechanical plans for automation integration.
• Possibly perform on-site surveys and installations.
• Create installation drawings and sequences of operations for efficient installation.
• Transition documents to field and service teams.
• Assist with as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and project documentation.
