Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Building Controls Engineer to design, configure, and commission complete building control systems, including fire and security subsystems. You will support field teams with submittals, wiring diagrams, and software programs to ensure reliable operation of the project.

You will collaborate with customers, consultants, and subcontractors, develop schedules, and coordinate material delivery while traveling to job sites as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and minimum 3 years' experience.
• Knowledge of construction or HVAC industry.
• Understanding of control theory and building automation systems.
• Experience with JCI software programming.
• Experience integrating low voltage building subsystems using industry protocols (i.e., LON, BACnet).
• Must be able to travel regularly.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and operate complete building control systems including fire and security subsystems.
• Develop complex software programs and perform commissioning to ensure proper operation.
• Provide submittals and communicate design details to customers, field teams, and subcontractors.
• Create drawings, bill of materials, and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
• Coordinate delivery of materials and factory-mounting processes to meet schedules.
• Assist in loading, commissioning, and validation of the system and network-level controllers.
• Provide field change information for as-built drawings and software.
• Train owner/operators on the total building control system.
• Travel required for this role.
