Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking an Applications Engineer to shape HVAC control offerings. You will serve as a SME, contributing to design, development, testing, and support of future system applications and controls.

You will leverage field experience to advise segment leaders, engineers, and product managers, turning field challenges into practical solutions. You will participate in hands-on development, testing, and field validation, define product requirements, and create authoritative guides

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Controls, Mechanical, or related field (extensive experience may substitute).
• 8+ years in BAS, HVAC controls, or system application engineering.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC controls project fulfillment from handoff to turnover.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for HVAC system applications, interfaces, and 3rd party integration.
• Monitor industry trends to inform product roadmaps.
• Collaborate with engineering to evaluate feasibility and resolve issues.
• Provide commercialization support for field office sales and operations.
• Author/review engineering bulletins, guides, and best practices.
• Present technical topics to internal and external audiences.
• Support field trials, pilots, and site rollouts.
