Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking an Applications Engineer to shape HVAC controls offerings. You will serve as an SME for HVAC controls, contribute to design, development, testing and support of new system applications, and act as a key consultant to segment leaders and product teams.

You will evaluate field challenges, develop practical solutions, and participate in hands-on development, testing, and field validation of new applications, while helping define product requirements and creating

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Controls, Mechanical or related field; experience may substitute for degree.
• Hands-on experience in BAS/HVAC controls and system application engineering strongly desired.
• Experience fulfilling HVAC controls projects from handoff to turnover.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for HVAC system applications, interfaces, and integration with 3rd party systems.
• Monitor industry trends to inform product feature roadmaps.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate feasibility and resolve issues.
• Support field office sales and operations with commercialization.
• Author/review engineering bulletins and application guides.
• Present technical topics to internal and external audiences.
• Participate in customer visits and field events.
• Direct support of critical customer projects including job site work.
• Capture VOC to identify customer and user needs for end-to-end solutions.
• Define scope and requirements for next-generation HVAC applications.
• Design and deploy system-level applications and control logic across platforms.
• Plan and execute application testing with modeling, HIL, and lab testing.
• Support field trials and site rollouts for new applications.
