Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Chiller Mechanic Journeyman (Union) to support startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and aftermarket service for commercial HVAC equipment in the Folsom, CA area.

You will work directly with customers to improve system performance, identify inefficiencies, and deliver practical service solutions. This hands-on role emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of practical working experience on commercial and/or ducted HVAC products and systems.
• Strong HVAC and mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, and screw chiller components.
• Must be a member of, or willing to join, the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States.
• Universal EPA refrigerants license and applicable state/local licensing.

Responsibilities

• Perform startup, commissioning, and aftermarket service on commercial HVAC systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC and mechanical issues including chillers, AHUs, and rooftop units.
• Prepare quotes and document customer issues, causes, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with branch teams to support customer needs.
• Participate in training to strengthen product and service expertise.
