Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks an experienced Building Controls Engineer to design, install, and commission complete HVAC building control systems and related low voltage subsystems at our Capitol Heights, MD area-site. You will develop software, create submittals, and ensure proper operation of the building control network in collaboration with the Sales and Service teams.

Experience with building automation, control theory, and protocol integrations (LON/BACnet) is required, as is a strong emphasis on

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or 8+ years’ experience in construction, service, or HVAC.
• Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, and building automation systems.
• Experience integrating low voltage building subsystems using industry protocols (LON, BACnet, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Designs, configures and services building control systems for customer facilities.
• Develops software programs for system operation and commissioning.
• Coordinates drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
• Orders materials and tracks delivery for assigned jobs.
• Assists in loading and commissioning of controllers and validates system functionality.
• Provides field change information for as-built drawings and software.
• Keeps stakeholders informed of progress and issues.
• May train owner/operator on the total building control system.
• Contributes to value engineering while maintaining customer satisfaction.
