Job summary

The Anchorage School District is seeking a Heat and Vent Specialist to maintain heating and ventilation systems across ASD facilities. The role follows a 4/10 schedule with weekends off, and supports a 12-month work year.

Required are a high school diploma or GED, a second class boiler license or equivalent, and substantial HVAC experience, including control systems and electronics. A comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or current enrollment in a GED program.
• Alaska second class boiler operator's license or equivalent experience in boiler work.
• At least four years in heating and ventilation in the past six years.
• At least three years in heating/ventilation control with emphasis in electronics.
• Knowledge of pneumatic practical application.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, analyzes, and repairs heating, ventilation, and automation systems.
• Performs preventive maintenance on heating control systems.
• Repairs and adjusts heating equipment and components as needed.
• Maintains BAS and related controls for proper heating and lighting.
• Reads plans and specifications to guide maintenance tasks.
