Job summary

The Anchorage School District is seeking a Building Controls Specialist to maintain automated building control systems across district facilities. The role reports to the department lead and supports a 4/10 schedule with weekends and holidays off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or current enrollment in a GED program.
• Three years of experience in heating and ventilation control with emphasis in electronics within the past five years.
• Knowledge of pneumatic practical application.
• Alaska third class boiler operator's license.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs heating, ventilation, and automation systems.
• Prevents and performs maintenance on heat control systems.
• Makes changes on the BAS for heating and lighting controls.
• Replaces or adds equipment to improve heat controls.
• Maintains knowledge of BAS related to HVAC and lighting.
• Reads and edits basic PPCL control language.
• Works at heights over 20 feet when required.
• Interprets plans and specifications for maintenance work.
• Writes reports and maintains records.
• Orders material for assigned jobs.
