Job summary

Nextech is a leading HVAC/R service provider seeking an Area Service Manager to lead Technicians across the Kansas City region. You will supervise, mentor, and recruit technicians, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery of service with strong customer focus.

You will forecast staffing needs, manage performance, and collaborate with senior leadership to maintain high service levels and growth in the local market. A strong technical background and history in HVAC service are required.

Qualifications

• HVAC experience with management experience a plus.
• Technical knowledge to support technicians and customers.
• Maintain continual education in the technical field.
• Able to communicate professionally with customers and resolve concerns locally.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and deadlines.
• Experience in recruiting and hiring Technicians.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and hire Technicians for the area.
• Supervise and develop technician workforce.
• Forecast staffing needs and hire accordingly.
• Ensure productivity meets goals set by reviews or hiring.
• Maintain market work level to support Technicians (surveys, sales, etc.).
• Handle escalated service issues related to field/technicians.
• Develop training plans for Technicians using company materials.
• Provide technical support and ensure area quality of work.
• Ride along with Technicians to oversee work.
• Conduct annual technician reviews with VP approval.
• Model professionalism and protect the company image and safety.
• Maintain local customer relationships with RSM and Account Managers.
