Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Texas driver’s license
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations
• Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
• Ability to use hand and power tools

Responsibilities

• Assist with diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in HVAC systems; repair, replace, or calibrate controls such as thermostats.
• Assist with installation of new systems and components; fabricate, assemble, and install duct work and piping to code.
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC equipment; change filters and clean condensers and coils.
• Receive and complete work orders; inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
• Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and materials; keep coolant records to meet federal requirements.
• Assist energy manager with energy conservation surveys for efficient HVAC use; respond to emergency calls as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions; work in varied environments and conditions.
