Job summary

Bushland ISD District Wide in Bushland, Texas hires an HVAC Apprentice to maintain, repair, and install heating and air conditioning systems across the district. Under supervision, you will help ensure safe operation of HVAC equipment in district facilities.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a Texas driver’s license. Training on site is provided, with emphasis on diagnostics, installation of ductwork, and energy-efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Clear and valid Texas driver’s license
• Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations
• Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
• Ability to use hand and power tools

Responsibilities

• Assist with diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in HVAC systems.
• Assist with installation and expansion of HVAC systems; fabricate and install duct work.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and cleaning of filters, condensers, coils.
• Receive and complete work orders; inspect jobs upon completion.
• Maintain inventory of tools and materials; track coolant dispensing records.
• Assist energy manager with energy conservation surveys.
• Respond to emergency calls as needed.
