Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking an entry-level Heavy Equipment Operator to support construction, maintenance and repair of electrical transmission systems. The role involves work at various locations and may require travel to another state based on customer demands.

Essential duties include stringing overhead wire, setting poles, and assisting with transformers, switchgear and circuit maintenance. Strong safety mindset and physical stamina are essential for this role in outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in related field.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice when required.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime and on weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Work safely on energized and de-energized overhead work.
• Stringing overhead wire.
• Setting poles and anchors.
• Assist with installing transformers, arresters, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches and switchgear.
• Assist in replacing fuses in transformers and clears faulted circuits.
• Operate and maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools.
• Perform rigorous physical labor and use PPE properly.
• Understand basic rigging, hand lines and knot tying.
• Capable of learning materials used in line work.
