Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC seeks an entry level Heavy Equipment Operator to support construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical transmission systems. This role requires working at various locations, with travel to other states as needed.

The candidate will assist with overhead line work, poles, transformers, and high voltage equipment while observing safety protocols. The position emphasizes physical labor, equipment handling, and the ability to follow directions.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in related field.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice when required.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime and outside normal hours.

Responsibilities

• String overhead wire and set poles and anchors.
• Assist with installing transformers, arrestors, cutouts and insulators.
• Assist in replacing fuses in transformers and clears faulted circuits.
• Work with energized high voltage systems with proper safety.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good condition.
• Capable of learning basic line work materials and voltages.
• Assist with bucket rescue/escape and setup of equipment and grounding.
• Follow flag and tag procedures and use PPE correctly.
