Job summary

Pike Corporation is seeking an entry-level Transmission Equipment Operator to support construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical transmission systems. The role may require travel to other states based on customer demands and involves working with energized/high voltage systems.

Responsibilities include overhead wire stringing, setting poles, assisting with transformers and switches, and maintaining equipment. Candidates must be able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment.
• A Commercial Driver’s License is preferred.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead work.
• Stringing overhead wire.
• Setting poles and anchors.
• Assists with installing transformers, arrestors, crossarms, insulators, switches and switchgear.
• Assists in replacing fuses in transformers and clears faulted circuits and systems.
• Capable of working at heights and/or confined spaces.
