Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking an entry level Heavy Equipment Operator to support construction, maintenance and repair of electrical transmission systems. The role involves working at multiple locations and occasional travel to other states based on customer needs.

Responsibilities include stringing overhead wire, setting poles, assisting with transformers and switchgear, and performing basic rigging. Applicants should be able to lift 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions while following

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in heavy equipment operation.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment.
• A Commercial Driver’s License is preferred.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice when required.
• Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead work.
• String overhead wire and set poles/anchors.
• Assist with installing transformers, crossarms, insulators and switchgear.
• Assist in replacing fuses and clearing faulted circuits.
• Operate with high voltage systems and maintain tools/equipment.
• Capable of learning basic materials used in line work and rigging basics.
