Job summary

Pike Corporation is seeking an entry-level Transmission Equipment Operator to support construction, maintenance and repair of electrical transmission systems. The role involves working at various sites and traveling as needed to meet customer demands.

The position requires basic knowledge of line work, ability to lift heavy loads, and a commitment to safety. Training will cover voltage identification, PPE use, and equipment operation across field locations.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in electrical transmission or related field.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Able to travel to different locations as required by customer demands.

Responsibilities

• Work safely on energized and de-energized overhead work.
• String overhead wire and set poles.
• Assist with installing transformers, insulators, switches and switchgear.
• Assist in replacing fuses in transformers and clearing faulted circuits.
• Operate with high voltage systems and protect yourself and others.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good order.
• Capable of performing rigorous physical labor and working at heights or in confined spaces.
• Understand rigging, hand lines, and lineman knot tying.
• Comply with PPE use and equipment grounding basics.
