Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking an Equipment Operator for entry level work in the construction, maintenance and repair of electrical transmission systems. The role involves physically demanding tasks, overhead line work, and operating heavy equipment at various sites.

Responsibilities include setting poles, stringing wire, installing components, and assisting with transformer work while following safety rules and wearing PPE. CDL is required; travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
• Understands proper use of company radio.
• Understands operation of heavy equipment.
• Understanding of rigging, hand lines, and lineman knots.
• Capable of following directions.
• Capable of learning materials used in line work.
• Identifies primary/secondary voltage on a circuit.
• Familiar with induced voltage.
• Capable of installing and hooking up a single phase transformer.
• Able to perform basic bucket rescue/escape.
• Understands equipment setup and grounding.

Responsibilities

• Work safely on energized and de-energized overhead work.
• String overhead wire.
• Set poles and anchors.
• Assist with installation of transformers, arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear.
• Assist in replacing fuses and clearing faulted circuits.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools.
• Perform other related work as required to complete the job.
