Job summary

Energy Erectors, Inc. in North Carolina is seeking a Substation Technician to provide engineering for substation facilities up to 500 kV. Projects may include interconnection of Battery Energy Storage Systems, renewables, solar, wind, or other DER.

This role includes design, procurement support, and layout for major equipment and structures in high-voltage switchyards. The position requires OSHA certifications, a valid driver’s license, and ability to perform physically demanding field work,

Qualifications

OSHA 10 and/or 30 certification is required.
Must obtain and maintain a valid State Class C driver’s license.
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
Able to learn how to operate construction equipment and use hand tools.
Must work in a physically demanding field environment.
Possession of a DOL Journeyman completion certificate is required.

Responsibilities

Work safely while assisting in new/existing construction and related tasks.
Read and understand system maps related to distribution and substation layout.
Assist with installing transformer banks, bus structures, switchgear, lines, and ground grid.
Able to operate forklifts and maintain a forklift certification.
Work with man baskets, skid steers, shovels, and other equipment.
Frequently work around energized high voltage systems with care.
Maintain company tools in good working order.
Adhere to the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
Other duties as assigned by Management.
