Job summary
Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Engineer in Charlotte, NC to join project teams designing high and extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems. You will contribute to power equipment specifications and coordinate with clients and vendors, with some travel for reviews and site visits.
The role supports a hybrid work arrangement (three days in the office, two remote) and offers relocation support based on location.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Aerospace/Chemical engineering or related coursework including Coding, 3D Modeling/Design, and AI experience.
- Understanding of electrical engineering principles and ability to apply them to project designs.
- Proficiency with MS Office and strong written/verbal communication.
Responsibilities
- Team on design of new high/extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems.
- Prepare specifications for major electrical power equipment procurement and installation services.
- Travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and site coordination as needed.
