Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer - Substation to design HV/EHV substations, develop general arrangement drawings, layouts, plan and elevation views, and prepare BOMs. You will perform engineering calculations and coordinate with disciplines across the project lifecycle.

You will also review vendor quotes, write specifications, and assist with proposal development while traveling as needed to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• GPA over 3.0 (U.S. system).
• Experience in power systems engineering and design.
• Willingness to travel, including internationally.

Responsibilities

• Execute technical tasks for AC substation projects under guidance of Lead Engineer.
• Develop HV substations—general arrangement and layout drawings, plan and elevation views.
• Perform engineering calculations related to substation design.
• Coordinate design with other disciplines (SLDs, schematics, relay protection).
• Write specifications for HV equipment and prepare material purchase requests.
• Evaluate vendor quotations for substation equipment (breakers, switchgear, transformers).
• Support project manager to maintain budget and schedule.
