Job summary

Quanta Services is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee the design of high voltage infrastructure, including substation and transmission line projects. The role involves guiding the design team, supporting EPC proposals, and ensuring technical rigor and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in electric utility engineering, a P.E. license, and strong knowledge of industry codes. Travel up to 25% is required; strong communication and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in electric utility industry performing detailed engineering for high voltage substation projects.
• P.E. license required.
• ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering; multidisciplinary engineering proficiency.
• Strong knowledge of electric utility engineering and construction standards.
• Experience with project controls, estimating, and external customer support.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project design from inception to completion, including permitting and construction support.
• Review calculations and drawings for substations or transmission lines.
• Ensure projects meet budget and schedule with cost-effective solutions.
• Verify compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including safety requirements.
• Coordinate with government agencies, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver projects.
• Maintain quality control and engineering documentation.
• Demonstrate ownership of work quality and accuracy.
