Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group seeks a Project Engineer to oversee the design of high voltage infrastructure projects, providing design oversight for the team and supporting EPC proposals.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in electric utility detailed engineering for high voltage substations or transmission lines, with a P.E. license and ABET-accredited electrical engineering background. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• P.E. license required.
• Strong technical expertise in structural, civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering, with emphasis on high voltage substation or transmission projects.
• Familiarity with project controls and cost estimates processes.
• Experience supporting external customers.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of ANSI, ASTM, ACI, AISC, IEEE, NEC, NESC, and related standards.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and determine priorities in a complex environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design of high voltage infrastructure projects (substations, transmission lines).
• Provide oversight for the design team performing detailed design and support EPC proposals.
• Ensure projects stay on budget and schedule with cost-effective solutions.
• Review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications for electrical assets.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and the public.
• Maintain project status reports and engineering documentation.
