Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an HV SCADA Engineer II to support the design, configuration, testing, and commissioning of high voltage SCADA systems on utility-scale renewable and substations projects. The role can be fully remote or located in Bend, OR, San Diego, CA, or Raleigh, NC, with interview discussions for exact location.

Responsibilities include reviewing system requirements, developing SCADA designs, verifying point lists, programming RTACs, PDConcentrators, and HMIs, coordinating network

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.
• 2–4 years of SCADA engineering experience (substation SCADA experience preferred).
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings such as Electrical Single-line, Equipment Layout, and Panel Diagrams.
• Knowledge of protection relays and power meters; experience coordinating with utilities.
• Familiarity with IEC61131-3 programming languages and SCADA software tools.
• Experience with substation SCADA hardware and networks (RTAC/ISA).
• Understanding of SCADA protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA/DA) and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Review SCADA system requirements for substations in renewable energy projects.
• Support HV SCADA design development and drawings to meet specs.
• Verify substation points lists against relay/meter settings.
• Program and commission RTACs, PDConcentrators, and HMIs.
• Coordinate network settings and IP assignments.
• Troubleshoot communications between devices and controllers.
• Provide technical support for diverse substation configurations.
