Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an HV SCADA Engineer II to design, configure, test, and commission HV SCADA systems for utility-scale projects. The role can be remote or based in Bend, OR; San Diego, CA; or Raleigh, NC, with location details discussed at interview.

The candidate will support substation SCADA engineering, RTACs, HMIs, and network settings, travel up to 20%. Strong communication and adherence to safety and NERC standards are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related discipline.
• 2–4 years of SCADA engineering experience (substation SCADA preferred).
• Ability to read engineering drawings including Single-line and Equipment Layout Drawings.
• Knowledge of protection relays and power meters.
• Experience coordinating with utility companies for interconnection and standards.

Responsibilities

• Review SCADA system requirements for substations on renewable energy projects.
• Support HV SCADA design development and drawings to meet specs.
• Verify substation points lists against relay and meter settings files.
• Program and commission RTACs, Phasor Data Concentrators, and HMIs.
• Coordinate network settings and IP assignments for substation equipment.
• Troubleshoot communications between substation devices and controllers.
• Provide technical support for diverse substation configurations.
• Communicate with customers, vendors, and field technicians for commissioning.
• Travel up to 20% of duties onsite.
