Job summary

RESA Power, LLC is seeking a Service Field Tech - Relay Testing and Maintenance in Farmingdale, NJ. You will service and test power transmission equipment, perform high and medium voltage relay testing, and support commissioning and maintenance activities.

The role requires familiarity with safety standards (NETA, NEC, OSHA) and strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. Travel up to 50% and on-site work with a union-based benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED and minimum 1 year of experience in a related field.
• Knowledge of industry standards such as: NETA, NEC, OSHA and NFPA.
• Experience with MCC’s, Breakers, relay testing, oil testing, infrared scanning, up to 500kV class.
• Must be able to work safely and adhere to electrical safety procedures.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot and collect data of HV electrical systems.
• Install, commission, test, and maintain protective relaying equipment.
• Develop and document standardized commissioning, testing, and maintenance procedures for relay systems.
• Perform functional testing of substation control circuits to validate relay operation.
• Create relay macros and testing routines to confirm protection configurations.
• Rotate emergency on-call duties and respond to customer emergencies.
