Job summary

Optimized Process Designs (OPD) seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to own the engineering execution of HV/MV power infrastructure and substation projects from concept through energization, balancing safety, reliability, constructability, cost, and schedule.

You will lead technical decisions, mentor engineers, collaborate with clients and utilities, develop engineering packages, and ensure design compliance with IEEE, NEC, and client standards. Travel up to 15% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Substation engineering experience in utility or EPC environments.
• Experience with protection & control, relay settings, and HV/MV design.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering scope on EPC projects from concept through startup.
• Guide decisions balancing safety, reliability, constructability, cost, and schedule.
• Mentor engineers and designers across disciplines.
• Collaborate with clients, utilities, vendors, and construction teams throughout project development and execution.
• Develop engineering packages from concept to IFC deliverables and support commissioning.
