Job summary

Optimized Process Designs (OPD), a Koch Engineered Solutions company, seeks an Electrical Power Engineer to design high- and medium-voltage power systems, substations, and related infrastructure for lump-sum EPC projects. You will own the engineering scope from concept through energization, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and vendors to deliver constructible, code-compliant designs.

Based at our Katy, TX headquarters, you will work Monday–Friday with a work-from-home Friday option, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Substation engineering experience with a utility, EPC, or engineering consulting firm.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, or EIT certification and progress toward PE licensure.
• Experience on EPC or lump-sum turnkey (LSTK) projects.
• Hands-on involvement with construction, testing, and commissioning support.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical engineering scope on EPC projects from conceptual design through detailed engineering, construction, testing, energization, and startup.
• Apply sound engineering judgment balancing safety, reliability, constructability, operability, cost and schedule.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and designers.
• Collaborate with clients, utilities, vendors, project managers, construction, commissioning teams, and other engineering disciplines.
• Lead continuous improvement of engineering standards, specifications, tools, and processes.
