Job summary

Optimized Process Designs (OPD), a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking an Electrical Power Engineer to lead high- and medium-voltage power infrastructure and substation projects from concept through energization at our Katy, TX headquarters.

You will own the engineering scope, mentor teammates, and collaborate with utilities, project managers, and construction teams to deliver safe, reliable, and constructible designs under lump-sum EPC contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Substation engineering experience with a utility, EPC, or engineering consulting firm.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification with progress toward licensure.
• Experience on EPC or lump-sum turnkey (LSTK) projects.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical engineering scope on EPC projects from conceptual design through detailed engineering, construction, testing, energization, and startup.
• Apply sound engineering judgment to balance safety, reliability, constructability, operability, cost, and schedule.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and designers while expanding your own capabilities.
• Collaborate with clients, utilities, vendors, project managers, construction, commissioning teams, and other disciplines to support project execution.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and processes.
