Job summary

Optimized Process Designs (OPD), a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking an Electrical Power Engineer to lead high-voltage and medium-voltage power infrastructure projects on EPC contracts. You will own your scope from concept through energization, collaborating with experienced teams and delivering energization-ready designs.

Role sits onsite at our Katy, TX headquarters, Monday–Friday, with a work-from-home Friday option.

Qualifications

• Own electrical engineering scope on EPC projects from concept to energization.
• Apply engineering judgment balancing safety, reliability, cost and schedule.
• Mentor engineers and designers while expanding own capabilities.
• Collaborate with clients, utilities, vendors and project teams.
• Develop and improve engineering standards and tools.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical power systems for industrial facilities and substations.
• Perform load flow, short circuit, coordination, arc flash studies.
• Produce one-line and schematic diagrams and layouts.
• Specify transformers, switchgear, MCCs, breakers and relays.
• Support interconnection and grid compliance with utilities.
• Travel to project sites up to 15%.
