Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) in Texas seeks an experienced electrical service technician to inspect, test and troubleshoot high voltage systems up to 500kV. You will perform transformer and relay tests, switchgear and breaker testing, and on-call emergency responses while adhering to safety standards.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years in electrical power, a strong safety record, and an ability to travel locally with overnight stays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant electrical power experience.
• NETA Certification (III or IV) highly preferred or equivalent.
• OSHA 30, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and data collection for low, medium and high voltage systems up to 500kV and relay calibration.
• Instrument transformer tests.
• Power transformer testing – Doble, TTR, Insulation Resistance, etc.
• Test electro-mechanical and solid-state relays.
• Cable testing – Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot.
• Automatic transfer switch troubleshooting.
• Test LV/MV/HV switchgear and circuit breakers.
• Rotate on-call duty and respond to customer emergencies promptly.
