Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a qualified electrical test technician to inspect, test, troubleshoot, and collect data on high- and medium-voltage electrical systems up to 500kV, with on-site field work across North America. Join a safety‑driven team committed to reliability and customer service.

The role requires at least 5 years of relevant experience, NETA certification preferred, and ability to travel locally and overnight.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Electrical Power or military training preferred.
• NETA Certification highly preferred or equivalent experience to become certified.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• OSHA 30/MSHA/NFPA 70-E/CPR First Aid training preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally/overnight.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and data collection for HV/LV electrical systems up to 500kV.
• Perform instrument transformer tests and power transformer testing (Doble, TTR, insulation resistance).
• Test electro-mechanical and solid-state relays; cable testing (Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot).
• Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches; test switchgear and circuit breakers.
• Respond to customer emergencies; travel as needed; maintain safety procedures.
