Job summary

Florida Department of Children and Families, Office of Economic Self-Sufficiency (ESS), is seeking an OPS Human Services Program Consultant I to support statewide eligibility operations.This role provides operational support for case processing, analyzes case information, and ensures timely and accurate eligibility actions while maintaining compliance with policies and required standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with Florida public assistance programs such as Medicaid, SNAP or TANF.
• Ability to analyze case information and determine next steps for eligibility actions.
• Knowledge of eligibility policies and federal/state requirements.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Review eligibility case actions requiring research, clarification, correction, or additional operational attention.
• Analyze case information and system data to determine steps for eligibility actions (applications, renewals, changes, redeterminations, transfers).
• Research and resolve discrepancies, alerts, or missing information delaying disposition.
• Review cases for compliance with policies, federal/state requirements, and ESS operating instructions.
• Perform case research using Department systems, databases, and reports.
• Identify cases nearing processing timeframes and escalate barriers when needed.
• Assist with statewide efforts to reduce pending workloads and improve timely disposition.
• Coordinate with regional and statewide staff to resolve complex issues.
• Develop and maintain tracking for actions, referrals, and corrective actions.
• Prepare reports and summaries related to eligibility operations.
