Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage onboarding of new contractors by gathering and validating all required legal documentation.
• Verify employment documentation (I-9 and E-Verify where applicable).
• Initiate, monitor, and adjudicate background check reports.
• Assist contractors with new hire paperwork and system setup.
• Track contractor assignments and time/expense entry in VMS platforms.
• Maintain data accuracy across multiple systems for database integrity.
• Monitor onboarding progress and communicate updates to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Client Services, Payroll, Compliance, and Implementation teams.
• Report missing documentation according to client requirements.
• Maintain organized records and process documentation per account.
• Provide ongoing contractor care and outreach during assignments.
• Update contractor information in relevant systems as needed.
• Distribute reporting data regularly with accuracy and audit readiness.
• Support hiring managers with policy/procedure communications.
• Deliver a high-quality experience to contractors and clients.

Workforce Success Specialist / Onboarding Specialist

Location: Remote

Schedule: Monday–Friday, typical business hours (8:00am–5:00pm)

Pay: $25.00/hour

Position Overview

Lakeshore Talent is seeking an Human Resources Onboarding Specialist for a client of ours. This role will support day-to-day operations for contractors on assignment across multiple client accounts. This role is responsible for managing high-volume onboarding, maintaining accurate documentation, supporting contractor relationships, and ensuring compliance and consistency across accounts.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and experienced in staffing, HR operations, and workforce systems. This role requires strong written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage onboarding of new contractors by gathering and validating all required legal documentation in alignment with client policies
• Verify employment documentation (including I-9 and E-Verify requirements where applicable)
• Initiate, monitor, and adjudicate background check reports
• Assist contractors with new hire paperwork and system setup
• Track and manage contractor assignments, including time and expense entry within VMS (Vendor Management Systems) platforms
• Capture and maintain accurate data across multiple systems to ensure database integrity
• Monitor onboarding progress and proactively communicate updates to internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Client Services, Payroll, Compliance, and Implementation teams
• Track and report missing documentation according to client requirements
• Maintain structured, organized records and process documentation for each account
• Provide ongoing contractor care throughout assignments, including regular outreach and relationship management
• Assist contractors with updates to personal or assignment information in relevant systems
• Distribute reporting data on a regular cadence, ensuring accuracy and audit readiness
• Support hiring managers with communication regarding policies and procedures
• Deliver a high-quality experience to both contractors and clients

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
• Prior experience in staffing, workforce solutions, or HR operations
• Hands-on experience with HRIS systems (required)
• Experience working within Vendor Management Systems (VMS) such as Fieldglass, Beeline, or similar platforms (required)
• Experience maintaining databases and managing contractor records
• Familiarity with CRM platforms (Freshdesk experience is a plus)
• Experience in a high-volume ennironment
• Ability to manage and learn new technology with ease; managing multiple systems on a day-to-day basis.
