SRMG operates 10 restaurant/bar locations throughout Southern California. We are constantly acquiring new restaurants/bars, now is the time to join our rapidly expanding company! Our brand is a fun, festive, high-energy and high-volume restaurant/bars. Our group is one of the largest independently owned and operated chains in California, as well as owner of one of the highest volume Cantina-styled restaurant/bars in Southern California. Our brand provides a casual and upbeat work environment with a stable, reputable and successful restaurant group.

JOB SUMMARY:

Assist and support management and the corporate office with handling and resolving Human Resources issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and maintain new hire and personnel files and enter them into Human Resources Information Systems, including safety and training documentation.
  • Ensure all new hires have completed orientation and signed policies and procedures.
  • Manage employees’ requests for accommodations and requests for available leave programs or short-term disability.
  • Lead investigations and interviews to appropriately resolve employee relations issues.
  • Assist in the termination process, including reviewing personnel files, facilitating manager and employee discussions, performing exit interviews, and completing necessary documentation.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures and/or programs.
  • Create and manage job descriptions.
  • Create and manage training manuals for all job roles, maintaining continuity through restaurant chain/brands.
  • Assist with reporting and investigating claims for workers’ compensation benefits and workplace injuries.
  • Assist with requests for information in connection with unemployment insurance benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations concerning employment, safety and posting requirements.
  • Conduct new hire orientation for management.
  • Protect and maintain the privacy of employee information in all personnel systems and records, including compensation information.
  • Participate and facilitate in annual group health plan open enrollment planning and rollout.
  • Assist Director of Operations with creating and implementing employee forms and projects as needed.
  • Assist Director of Finance with projects as needed.
  • Provide corporate level support to the restaurant management team throughout Southern California.

SKILLS:

  • Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Able to relate well to people and work in cooperation with others.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn to effectively operate any company software – with training.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Strong initiative and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of human resource processes and benefits.
  • Excellent communications and organizational skills.
  • Resourceful, result oriented, self-starter, with strong work ethic and job commitment.
  • Capable of prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Reliable transportation

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Human Resources or related field; or minimum three years in Human Resources function.
  • HR certification preferred.
  • Willingness to work full time from the corporate office address in West Hollywood with occasional trips to the restaurant locations.
