Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and manage HR functions within a manufacturing environment. This role serves as a strategic business partner to plant leadership, supporting employee relations, recruiting, workforce planning, compliance, training and development, compensation, benefits, performance management, and labor relations. The ideal candidate has progressive HR leadership experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment and is comfortable supporting both hourly and salaried employees.
Job Responsibilities
- Foster a positive, productive, and engaged workplace culture.
- Investigate employee complaints, workplace concerns, and policy violations.
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers and supervisors on employee relations matters.
- Support conflict resolution, corrective action, and disciplinary processes.
- Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures.
- Develop and execute recruiting strategies to attract skilled manufacturing talent.
- Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and workforce requirements.
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
- Coordinate with temporary staffing agencies to support workforce planning.
- Monitor turnover trends and implement employee retention strategies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
- Oversee compliance related to FMLA, ADA, EEO, workers' compensation, and other employment regulations.
- Administer performance management programs and annual review processes.
- Partner with leadership to identify training and development needs.
- Coordinate leadership development, succession planning, and career growth initiatives.
- Support employee recognition and engagement programs.
- Administer compensation programs and support wage analysis activities.
- Manage employee benefits enrollment and communication.
- Assist employees with benefits-related questions and concerns.
- Support collective bargaining agreement administration and grievance resolution.
- Ensure adherence to labor agreements and company policies.
- Collaborate with the EHS Specialist to promote a strong workplace safety culture.
- Support workers' compensation and return-to-work programs.
- Participate in Safety Committee and employee wellness initiatives.
- Track and analyze HR metrics, including turnover, absenteeism, hiring, retention, and training effectiveness.
- Prepare HR reports and recommendations for plant and executive leadership.
- Identify trends and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Complete additional HR and operational projects as directed by the CFO.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of progressive HR experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of HR leadership experience, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
- Experience supporting both hourly and salaried workforces.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, recruiting, compliance, performance management, and HR operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to partner effectively with plant leadership, managers, supervisors, and employees.
Preferred Qualifications
- SHRM or SPHR certification.
- Previous union/labor relations experience.
- Experience with collective bargaining agreements and grievance resolution.
- Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing or production environment.
