Hebard Search Partners is assisting a full-service entertainment company in the San Fernando Valley, CA, in hiring an experienced Human Resources professional to manage HR and payroll functions, shape the employee experience, and drive business success through people.

Reporting to the President, this role partners with leaders and Labor Coordinators to anticipate needs, design solutions, and ensure employees have the tools and support to thrive.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of progressive HR experience.
• Hands-on payroll processing in union/entertainment environments.
• Strategic partner to business leaders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Strong project management, facilitation, and change leadership skills.
• Experience driving performance management, compensation, talent review and career development processes.
• Working knowledge of federal, state and local employment law and HR compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in HR and payroll systems and Google Suite.
• Experience in union or represented environments is strongly preferred.
• Experience in entertainment, live events, hospitality or retail is preferred.

Job description

Our client is a full-service entertainment company based in the San Fernando Valley, California.

As the company continues to grow, it requires an experienced Human Resources professional to manage its HR and payroll functions, shape the employee experience and drive business success through people. This role manages traditional HR responsibilities including payroll, recruitment and onboarding, while strengthening team culture and guiding change initiatives that improve performance and engagement. Reporting directly to the President, this person will collaborate closely with leaders and Labor Coordinators to anticipate needs, design solutions, and ensure employees have the tools, opportunities, and support to thrive.

Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

• 5 to 8 years of progressive human resources experience with demonstrated expertise in human resources, payroll administration, employee relations, and talent management.
• Hands-on payroll processing experience, including resolving discrepancies, tax notices and garnishments, gained in a union or entertainment environment.
• Demonstrated success as a strategic partner to business leaders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Solid project management, facilitation, and change leadership skills.
• Experience driving performance management, compensation, talent review and career development processes.
• Working knowledge of federal, state and local employment law and HR compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in HR and payroll systems and Google Suite.
• Experience in union or represented environments is strongly preferred.
• Experience in industries such as entertainment, live events, hospitality or retail is preferred.

Education

The qualified candidate will have a bachelor's degree in human resources, business management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. A degree in HR Management, Organizational Development, or a related field is preferred.
