Job summary

Controlled Holdings, an Indiana-based HVAC controls distributor and multiple-time Best Places to Work award-winner, seeks an HR Manager to lead our People Ops team. You will drive payroll, benefits, recruiting, and engagement programs in a fast-paced, people-first culture.

You’ll partner with senior leaders to align HR initiatives with business goals while creating a workplace where employees feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow. Hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in People Operations or HR leadership
• Bachelor’s degree in HR/Business or related field
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM SCP certification is a plus
• Experience with Certified Payroll is preferred

As an HR Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our employee experience. You will lead with positivity, drive morale, and make Controlled Holdings a place where people love to work. You’ll also oversee key functions like payroll, benefits, recruiting, compliance, and company-engagement events.

• Oversee the payroll and benefits team, ensuring smooth and accurate payroll processes and compliance with all regulations.
• Lead the recruiting team, ensuring we attract, hire, and retain top talent who align with our values and goals (not just filling an open seat).

• Develop and execute company-wide programs, events, and activities that drive employee morale and engagement.
• Ensure compliance with HR laws and regulations, while maintaining the focus on creating a supportive and inclusive environment.

• Experience overseeing payroll, benefits, recruitment, and events management, ensuring alignment with company culture and employee satisfaction.
• Demonstrated success in creating and nurturing a positive company culture and driving employee morale.

• Experience in implementing and driving People Operations strategies, with an emphasis on employee experience and engagement.
• Ability to think strategically while executing day-to-day operations with a hands-on approach.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in People Operations, with a proven track record of leading a team and driving employee engagement initiatives.
• Experience with Certified Payroll
• UKG Ready or comparable HRIS knowledge strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM SCP certification is a plus!
