The Human Resources Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting the Human Resources department. This position will assist with a variety of HR functions, including recruitment, employee records, onboarding, HR reporting, employee engagement, and administrative activities.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and interested in developing a career in Human Resources. The intern will have the opportunity to learn about HR practices within a regulated, safety-focused utility environment while working collaboratively with employees and HR professionals across the organization.
- Assist with day-to-day HR administrative activities and departmental projects.
- Support recruitment activities, including posting job opportunities, reviewing applications, coordinating interviews, and communicating with candidates.
- Assist with new-hire onboarding and preparation of onboarding materials.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements.
- Assist with HR data entry, reporting, and tracking of employee information.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, company events, recognition programs, and HR communications.
- Assist with the preparation of presentations, reports, spreadsheets, and other HR-related documents.
- Conduct research on HR practices, policies, and employment-related topics as assigned.
- Support HR team members with special projects, process improvements, and organizational initiatives.
- Assist with maintaining HR resources, forms, and internal documentation.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service to employees and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling employee, payroll, benefits, and other sensitive information.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
