JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resources Coordinator Intern will provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Department while gaining hands‑on experience in a professional HR environment. This position will assist with recruiting, onboarding, employee records, HR communications, benefits administration, payroll support, and other HR-related projects.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, professional, detail-oriented, and interested in developing a career in Human Resources.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with posting job openings on various recruiting platforms.
- Review applications and resumes and assist with candidate screening.
- Coordinate interviews and communicate with candidates and hiring managers.
- Maintain accurate candidate and recruiting records.
- Assist with background checks and pre‑employment documentation.
- Follow up with candidates throughout the hiring process.
- Assist HR with recruitment projects and job fairs.
- Assist with new hire paperwork and onboarding activities.
- Ensure required employment documents are completed and maintained.
- Assist with I‑9 and employment verification processes.
- Help coordinate new hire orientations and training.
- Maintain onboarding checklists and follow up on outstanding items.
- Coordinate with managers and other departments to ensure new hires are properly set up.
HR Administration:
- Maintain confidential employee files and HR records.
- Assist with updating employee information in HR systems.
- Assist with preparing HR reports, spreadsheets, and tracking documents.
- Provide administrative support to the HR team.
- Assist with employee communications and HR announcements.
- Help organize HR documents and maintain accurate records.
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist with special HR projects and initiatives.
- Research HR practices, employment regulations, and workplace trends.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR Department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
Required
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team.
