Job summary

Tennant Solutions is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support daily HR operations on-site in Springdale, Ohio. You will partner with the HR Manager and the site team to implement policies and programs, while maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring compliance.

You will lead onboarding and offboarding, assist with benefits, worker's comp and employment verifications, and contribute to continuous process improvements within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of HR generalist experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS/HCM systems.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for assigned departments within the site, supporting hourly and salaried employees.
  • Assist in developing retention strategies and employee engagement programs tailored to site and production.
  • Lead onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparing documentation, completing I-9s, conducting orientation sessions, and collecting exit paperwork.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HRIS/HCM systems and employee files.
  • Assist with Worker's Compensation, Unemployment claims and employment verifications.
  • Help administer HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Track employee attendance, PTO, and leaves of absence; support benefits administration as needed.
  • Coordinate employee engagement and recognition programs.
  • Assist with compliance tracking, reporting, and audits.
  • Respond to internal HR-related inquiries and elevate issues as necessary.
  • Conduct employee relations investigations, analyze organizational health issues, and work in partnership HR team to develop and execute plans to address concerns
  • Update employee earnings and deductions including employee position changes and promotions as well as wage garnishments.
  • Develop/Deliver HR projects and continuous process improvement efforts.

Job Summary

This role is essential for supporting daily HR operations and ensuring effective implementation of HR policies and programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a solid understanding of HR practices, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Job Setting / Environment
  • Full-time position: hours may vary based on business needs. (7am-4pm)
  • Office environment with occasional need to walk warehouse floor or attend company events.
  • This position is performed in an environmentally controlled building. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and computer usage.
