Job summary

The role covers employee relations, onboarding, performance management, policy interpretation, compliance, leave administration, and engagement initiatives, aiming to strengthen manager capability and organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Admin, Industrial Relations, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience.
  • Experience advising managers on employee issues, corrective action and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements.

Job description

The HR Generalist provides hands‑on support to employees and managers across corporate functions, helping ensure HR programs, policies, and practices are applied consistently and effectively. This role serves as a trusted resource for day‑to‑day HR matters while partnering with leaders and the HR team to support business needs.

The successful candidate will bring well‑rounded HR experience across employee relations, onboarding, performance management, policy interpretation, compliance, leave administration, and employee engagement. This position requires sound judgment, practical problem solving, strong follow‑through, and the ability to build credibility with employees and leaders.

As a key member of the HR team, the HR Generalist will help strengthen manager capability, support employee development and engagement, assist with employee concerns and workplace investigations, and contribute to HR initiatives that improve organizational effectiveness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide HR partnership and support to corporate functions, including leaders, managers, and employees in professional, technical, administrative, and business support roles.
  • Build effective relationships with assigned client groups and provide practical HR guidance aligned with business needs.
  • Maintain visibility and credibility with employees and leaders through timely follow‑up, sound judgment, and practical problem solving.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of assigned client groups, including business priorities, organizational needs, workforce challenges, and key talent considerations.
  • Interpret and apply company policies, procedures, and employment practices consistently and fairly across the organization.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, practices, procedures, and compliance‑related matters.
  • Support organizational effectiveness efforts, including employee engagement, communication, change management, and manager capability.
  • Support talent management initiatives, including succession planning, development planning, talent reviews, employee engagement actions, and leadership development activities.
  • Partner with leaders to identify employee development needs and support follow‑through on related action plans.
  • Assist with onboarding, orientation, employee transitions, internal movement, and retention‑related activities.
  • Support HR programs and initiatives that strengthen leadership capability, employee engagement, and workforce effectiveness.
  • Assist in communicating HR programs, policies, procedures, and initiatives to employees and leaders.
  • Support leave of absence processes, including required documentation, employee communication, and manager guidance.
  • Support immigration and employee documentation processes, as applicable.
  • Assist in reviewing and resolving employee concerns, conducting investigations as needed, and documenting outcomes appropriately.
  • Maintain highly confidential employee and organizational information with discretion and professionalism.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience.
  • Experience supporting employee relations, investigations, performance management, policy compliance, and talent management processes.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience advising managers on employee issues, corrective action, and documentation.
Preferred: Nice‑to‑have but not essential qualifications.
  • Experience supporting employees or leaders in a manufacturing, industrial, chemical, petrochemical, logistics, or operations‑based environment.
  • Experience supporting corporate functions in a multi‑site or operations‑driven business.
  • Experience supporting employee engagement, succession planning, leadership development, or workforce planning processes.
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position
  • Working knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving, critical thinking, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with HRIS or related systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting both exempt and non‑exempt employee populations is preferred.
  • Industry experience in manufacturing, chemical, or related environments is a plus.

This role operates in a professional office environment. Standard working hours apply.
