Compensation: $90,000 - $105,000 Base (Non-Exempt), bonus eligible
About the Opportunity
A highly regarded BigLaw firm is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join its HR team. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in supporting a broad range of human resources functions, including compliance, employee relations, benefits administration, HR operations, recruiting support, onboarding, and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
HR Compliance, Policy & Process Administration
- Support HR compliance initiatives, including monitoring employment law updates, maintaining compliance trackers, and coordinating required notices and documentation.
- Assist with policy administration and updates to HR forms, procedures, employee communications, and standard operating processes.
- Monitor completion of required firmwide training programs, including harassment and discrimination prevention training.
- Manage and maintain HR documentation, personnel records, and retention practices.
- Oversee Form I-9 administration, compliance monitoring, and related vendor coordination.
- Ensure federal, state, and local labor law postings remain current across multiple jurisdictions.
- Serve as backup support for HRIS data entry, personnel changes, compensation updates, and employee records management.
- Assist with unemployment claims administration and HR audits.
- Support process improvement initiatives, reporting, and compliance-focused projects.
Benefits, Leave Administration & Employee Support
- Assist with employee benefits administration, including employee inquiries, vendor coordination, reporting, audits, and open enrollment activities.
- Support leave administration processes, including FMLA, disability, paid family leave, workers' compensation, and other leave programs.
- Maintain leave-related documentation and compliance requirements.
- Support wellness, retirement, and benefits-related initiatives.
- Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, benefits, and general HR questions.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling employee relations matters and sensitive information.
Recruiting, Onboarding & HR Operations
- Partner with teams across HR, Finance, Payroll, Legal, and other business functions to ensure smooth HR operations.
- Assist with HRIS and HR technology platform administration.
- Provide backup support for recruiting and onboarding activities, including candidate sourcing, resume review, interview scheduling, orientation coordination, and new hire support.
- Participate in special projects, audits, reporting initiatives, and operational enhancements designed to improve efficiency and employee experience.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 5-7+ years of Human Resources experience.
- Strong knowledge of HR compliance, employment laws, benefits administration, employee relations, leave management, HR operations, and HR systems.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
- Experience within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Familiarity with HR platforms such as Dayforce, AbsenceSoft, ATS systems, or similar technologies.
- Experience leveraging AI-powered productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT.
