Job summary

LHH in California is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support daily HR operations, including full-cycle recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, training, and HR documentation. You will partner with payroll and benefits to handle changes and respond to inquiries, while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.

This role requires strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on confidentiality and independent work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 4–6 years of progressive HR experience with substantial Generalist responsibilities.
• Experience in recruitment, employee relations, workplace investigations, onboarding and training.
• Knowledge of California and federal employment laws and regulations.
• Hands-on experience with HRIS and ATS; Paycom experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• PHR, SHRM-CP or equivalent HR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruitment, candidate screening, interviews, offers, and pre-employment requirements.
• Coordinate onboarding, orientation, training, and employee separations.
• Address employee relations concerns and conduct objective workplace investigations.
• Coach managers on performance management, documentation, corrective action, and HR policies.
• Administer leaves of absence, reasonable accommodations, workers' comp, and return-to-work.
• Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS data, and ATS information.
• Partner with Payroll and Benefits to resolve employee questions and coordinate changes.
• Support HR audits, compliance reporting, policy updates, and process improvements.
• Maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities with discretion.

This role serves as a trusted resource for employees and managers while ensuring compliance with employment regulations, consistent application of policies, and accurate HR documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruitment, candidate screening, interviews, offers, and pre-employment requirements.
• Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, training, and employee separations.
• Address employee relations concerns and conduct objective workplace investigations.
• Coach managers on performance management, documentation, corrective action, and HR policies.
• Administer leaves of absence, reasonable accommodations, workers' compensation claims, and return-to-work arrangements.
• Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS data, and applicant tracking system information.
• Partner with Payroll and Benefits to resolve employee questions and coordinate employment changes.
• Support HR audits, compliance reporting, policy updates, and process improvements.
• Maintain confidentiality, manage multiple priorities, and elevate sensitive matters appropriately.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 4-6 years of progressive HR experience, including substantial HR Generalist responsibilities.
• Experience in recruitment, employee relations, workplace investigations, onboarding, and training.
• Working knowledge of workers' compensation, leave administration, reasonable accommodations, and return-to-work processes.
• Knowledge of California and federal employment laws and regulations.
• Hands-on experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems; Paycom experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to work independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; healthcare or multisite experience preferred.
• PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent HR certification preferred.
