Job summary

Chateau at Bothell Landing is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead HR operations, coach managers, and guide employee relations in a hands-on, supportive role. The position partners with the Executive Director and VP of HR to strengthen managerial capabilities and ensure a positive workplace culture.

You will oversee hiring, onboarding, compliance, records, and training, while collaborating with Payroll and Benefits.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressive HR experience, with independent advising of managers and handling complex employee relations.
• Current HR certification required (PHR, SHRM-CP).
• Strong knowledge of Washington employment practices and federal employment requirements.
• Experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or service-focused environments preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to coach leaders, navigate difficult conversations, and follow through.
• Experience using HR information systems; Paycom experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coach and advise leaders on employee relations, performance management, attendance, corrective action, and staffing decisions.
• Lead employee relations, respond to concerns, conduct investigations, and recommend next steps with HR leadership.
• Support recruitment and onboarding with hiring managers to attract candidates and provide a welcoming onboarding.
• Oversee compliance, employee records, background screening, credential tracking, and documentation.
• Develop managers through HR training and ensure policy adherence across systems.
• Guide performance management with timely reviews, documentation, and development planning.
• Provide direction to the HR Coordinator and coordinate across HR functions with Payroll and Benefits.
• Use Paycom data to monitor trends and improve retention and engagement.
• Build a positive employee experience through recognition and engagement initiatives.
