Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour
Location: Hagerstown, MD
The Arc of Washington County is a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our 9-person Human Resources department plays a critical role in ensuring smooth operations and fostering a positive employee experience across the organization.
Position Summary:
The Human Resources Coordinator provides technical and administrative support to the HR department and related projects. While duties and tasks are generally standardized, some may be moderately complex. This position independently applies both basic and advanced paraprofessional skills and adapts procedures and processes as needed to meet position requirements. The HR Coordinator works independently, utilizing established procedures to accomplish a variety of tasks efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serves as the subject matter expert for the HRIS system (Paycor)
*Conduct pre-hire processes for all candidates, including background checks, reference checks, physicals, functional capacity evaluations, and drug screenings.
* Assist recruiting to prepare and complete new hire paperwork, such as offer letters, tax documents, and enter personal data into the payroll system.
*Collaborate daily with the recruiting team to schedule interviews and support onboarding activities.
*Maintain organized employee files in HRIS and ensure up-to-date documentation for compliance purposes.
*Support document retention efforts and prepare documentation for assorted external audits.
Qualifications:
*An Associate degree in Human Resources or a related field is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
*Strong computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and general computer systems. Experience with Paycor a plus.
*Must have a valid driver’s license with a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience in the U.S., not including time on a permit, AND a safe driving record.
*Strong interpersonal skills and a welcoming, outgoing personality.
* Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
