Texas Original Compassionate Cultivation is seeking an HR Associate to support recruiting, onboarding, and HR operations across Texas locations. You will manage ADP data, coordinate interviews, and assist with benefits and employee communications.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

The HR Associate supports the Human Resources department with a primary focus on recruiting and onboarding, while gaining broad exposure to core HR generalist functions. This role is well suited to someone early in their HR career who is eager to build a foundation across the full employee lifecycle, including sourcing and hiring, onboarding, training coordination, and employee engagement. The HR Associate reports to the HR Director and works alongside a counterpart HR Associate, partnering closely to support the organization's locations statewide.

Essential Functions:

HRIS (ADP):

  • Enroll new employees in ADP, including entering personal, job, and compensation information accurately and on time.
  • Maintain and update employee information in ADP, including compensation, job titles, and reporting structures.

Recruiting & Onboarding:

  • Partner with the HR Director to understand staffing needs and manage full-cycle recruitment.
  • Post jobs, screen resumes, coordinate interviews, and support the offer process using the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Manage pre-employment processes, including background checks and new hire paperwork.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding, including ADP/system setup, orientation scheduling, and the Day 1 experience.

HR Operations & Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records (digital files).
  • Track and support compliance with labor laws, EEO reporting, and company policies.
  • Assist with policy implementation, communication, and updates.
  • Monitor and process employee changes, including leaves of absence (LOAs), terminations, and promotions.
  • Support internal audits and data reporting.

Benefits & Employee Support:

  • Assist with benefit enrollment, qualifying life events, and open enrollment logistics.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, time off, and policies.
  • Support employee engagement and recognition initiatives.

General HR Administration:

  • Support HR projects such as handbook updates, process improvements, and compliance rollouts.
  • Create and run HR reports and dashboards as requested.
  • Provide administrative support for employee relations, investigations, and training sessions.
  • Coordinate HR communications and assist with internal events.
  • Support the administration of the Learning Management System (LMS), including assigning courses and tracking completion.
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Support the Culture Committee, including planning and coordinating employee engagement activities and events.
  • Partner with the counterpart HR Associate to ensure consistent coverage and support across all Texas locations.
  • Support other HR generalist functions as assigned to build well-rounded HR experience.
  • Occasional travel between the Austin and Bastrop locations may be required.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with ADP or another HRIS and an ATS preferred.
  • Genuine interest in growing a career in Human Resources, with a desire to develop broad HR generalist experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 0-2 years of experience in HR, recruiting, or a related administrative role preferred; internship experience welcomed.
  • Primarily an office environment; must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 15 lbs.
