Job summary

HYE-IQ Solutions is seeking an HR Assistant to support the HR department with employee data management, payroll processing, onboarding, and benefits administration. You will serve as a liaison between HR and employees to ensure clear communication and timely response to requests.

The role requires 2–3 years in HR, an associate degree or related certification, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Qualifications

  • Associated degree and/or certification in related field.
  • 2-3 years experience in Human Resources.
  • Payroll software and processing experience is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date personnel files, records, documentation, and database.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from employees relating to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to HR Business Partner or management.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department.
  • May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributes checks.
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
  • Assists with new-employee background checks and drug screening.
  • Conducts and assists audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs, HR files, and recommends corrective action.
  • Assists with processing of onboarding and offboarding paperwork (i.e. status change forms, 401k Withdrawal form, benefits booklets, etc.)
  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
  • Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.
  • Conducts or assists with onboarding, new hire orientation, and training sessions.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

The HR assistant duties involve a wide range of support activities inside our HR department, from maintaining our employee database to posting job ads. An important part of your role will be to act as the liaison between HR and employees, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of requests and questions. You’ll also assist in maintaining the HRIS system and daily processes including payroll processing.

HR assistant skills we’re looking for include excellent organization ability, basic knowledge and understanding of human resource principles, practices, procedures with strong communication skills. To be an ideal candidate for the human resources assistant position, you should also hold an Associated degree and/or certification in a related field, ability to work autonomously, remain calm under pressure, and maintain confidentiality.
