About The Role

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented HR Generalist with experience working in small to midsize startups. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building strong organizations and have the ability to work independently in a 100% remote environment. This role will involve creating and documenting People Operations processes, managing employment records, ensuring legal compliance, and conducting new team member orientations. If you are mission-driven, flexible, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, this opportunity will offer valuable HR management experience and potential for future leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Improve and build upon existing HR policies and processes, recommending proactive measures to Senior Leadership.
• Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure compliance with tax and legal regulations.
• Lead the administration of benefits and wellness plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
• Create employment contracts and maintain team member records.
• Facilitate onboarding efforts for new employees, ensuring a seamless experience from day one.
• Manage the organization’s P.O. Box and handle physical mail.
• Oversee the inventory of office equipment in Austin and coordinate shipping to remote team members.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of HR experience or relevant work experience, with a focus on small to midsize startups.
• Must be based in the Austin, TX area and able to manage in-person errands for mail and inventory.
• Highly detail-oriented, with a process and results-driven mindset.
• Strong understanding of human resource principles, best practices, and procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and navigate ambiguity.
  
  

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources or a relevant field.
