Job Description

The HR Generalist provides essential support to the HR Manager, focusing on administrative coordination across payroll, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and personnel recordkeeping. This role ensures smooth day-to-day operations of the HR department while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with internal policies and employment regulations.

  1. Providing administrative support in the areas of payroll, employee recruitment, hiring, retention, and evaluation.
  2. Assist the HR Manager with payroll processing, including data entry and review, to support timely and accurate payroll cycles.
  3. Provide first-level support to supervisors and employees by responding to payroll-related inquiries and escalating complex issues as necessary.
  4. Provide support, training, and oversight in the areas of employee recruitment, hiring, retention, discipline, evaluation, and employee relations.
  5. Assist with pre-hire and post-hire background checks, professional license verifications, and other required screening checks, ensuring they are completed within timelines.
  6. Support the onboarding process and hiring process, including launching onboarding, tracking pre-hire paperwork, providing documents for employee files, and other administrative support as needed.
  7. Maintain employee files, ensuring they are accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
  8. Conduct orientation and training as needed.
  9. Help develop and implement tracking procedures for post-hire training, background checks, performance reviews, and other compliance requirements.
  10. Maintain thorough knowledge of company policies, employment laws, and interpret policies for stakeholders.
  11. Maintain positive employee relations with staff and management.
  12. Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding HR processes, escalating sensitive matters to the HR Manager.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum of two years relevant work experience.
  3. Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and compliance.
  4. Professional and positive communication skills with employees, customers, and management.
  5. Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  6. Problem-solving capacity, both independently and in teams.
  7. Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional travel.
  8. Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects.
