Job summary

JLL in Charlotte, NC or Chicago, IL is seeking an on-site Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Manager to lead program management, ensure compliance, and support training, inspections, incident response, and environmental duties on the account.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of HSSE experience in high hazard settings, a safety-related degree, strong communication and organizational skills, and willingness to travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety management, industrial hygiene, environmental science, or relevant field.
• 5+ years of HSSE experience in high hazard/risk environments.
• Practical working knowledge of Health and Safety tools and techniques, ideally within a Facilities Management environment.
• Knowledge of relevant standards, legislation, codes of practice, guidance and operating procedures.
• Good Presentation and Communication
• Strong organizational skills, information management proficiency and collaborative management style are needed.
• Evidence of strong interpersonal skills in order to establish credibility with colleagues and clients.
• Ability to travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Become the primary point of contact for HSSE requirements and activities.
• Lead development of HSSE culture and training programs on the account.
• Provide technical leadership on HSSE regulatory compliance issues.
• Maintain the account training matrix.
• Share best practices with the JLL HSSE Life Sciences team.
• Manage HSSE trend analysis and corrective actions.
• Report KPIs and risk indicators to teams.
• Investigate serious safety events and share lessons learned.
